Pricing Your Inventory
How to price liquidation goods for profit.
Pricing is where liquidation profit is made. Price too high and goods sit; price too low and you give away margin.
Start from sold listings
Look up recent sold prices for the same product and condition, not asking prices. Adjust for condition, missing accessories and packaging.
Know your landed cost
Landed cost per unit equals lot price plus freight, divided by the number of sellable units. Use sellable units, not total units.
Set price tiers
- Top sellers at market price
- Average items at a modest discount
- Slow movers bundled or clearance-priced
- Damaged items sold for parts or as-is
Include fees and time
Subtract marketplace commission, payment fees, outbound shipping and your time. A 40 percent gross margin can shrink quickly. Try the profit calculator.
